We are a not-for-profit organization that operates two hospital sites in Ohio, and several affiliated health care organizations. By combining the resources of the two organizations, we have been able to provide several new services for the community, including open-heart surgery, a Level II neonatal intermediate care unit and enhanced cancer services.

Our primary service area is a six-county region of southeastern Ohio.

Responsible for the leadership, vision and overall operation of multiple heart and vascular departments of the hospital.  The director will collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure patient care is delivered in an efficient and effective manner.  Assists in identifying opportunities for improving patient outcomes and provides oversight for navigation of patients through their inpatient stay as well as transition into the next level of care.  Models behaviors congruent with Genesis Mission and Values and promotes consistent adherence to the values within the organization.



  1. Plans, directs, coordinates and evaluates overall clinician practice, administrative activities including fiscal material and human resource management for all areas of responsibility.
  2. Demonstrates financial accountability for aspects of the business utilizing available financial systems/ reports and displays understanding of the expense and revenue aspects of the business.
  3. Establishes service line strategies related to decreasing readmissions of CV related diagnoses subjected to CMS penalty
  4. Establishes outreach strategies for expansion of services as well as building and securing relationships with other organizations.
  5. Ensures adherence to accreditation/certification standards and assists in facilitating collaboration between departments.
  6. Identifies new business opportunities and collaborates with finance to determine ROI
  7. Remains current on market trends and modifies program direction based on latest research
  8. Collaborates with agencies outside of Genesis to promote community based projects and initiatives.
  9. Monitors outcome measures from the ACC, STS, GWTG ACTION Registry and other heart and vascular related data.
  10. Communicates business imperatives, goals and direction in a clear and complete manner.
  11. Participates in research opportunities that assist in improving heart and vascular patient outcomes.
  12. Collaborates with heart and vascular medical directors to achieve departmental goals.
  13. Ensures all departments under scope of service adhere to best practice standards.
  14. Serves on hospital committees and participates in the development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures.
  15. Coaches and mentors staff.
  16. Maintains an environment where all diversity is respected.
  17. Holds people to high quality standard.
  18. Maintains knowledge of regulatory changes and organization compliance.
  19. Maintains highest level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
  20. Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Eligible for annual at-risk payout of up to 9% of base annual salary
  • BSN required, Ohio RN license required; an ADN with a Masters Degree does NOT meet the minimum requirement; the RN MUST have a BSN as well.
  • Masters required or must be obtained within 2 years
  • Must have at least 3 years of healthcare management experience
  • Must have at least 3 years of Heart & Vascular experience

Salary $107,000.00 to $141,000.00 depending on experience.
