By combining the resources of the two organizations, we have been able to provide several new services for the community, including open-heart surgery, a Level II neonatal intermediate care unit and enhanced cancer services. Overview of position:

Responsible for the leadership, vision, and overall operations of all service line functions within the healthcare system. Creates and promotes strategic planning for service line growth and development. Business expert who supports the physicians in the service line by serving in a leadership role in interactions with administration, peers, staff, other physicians and the community.

Essential Duties

  • Develops and implements a strategic and operational plan across the service line addressing mission, medical staff development, access, quality improvement, financial performance, regional growth, outreach activities and operational efficiencies
  • Responsible for creation and roll out of service line strategic plan, business imperatives, goals and direction in a clear, complete manner. Establishes well-defined measures, goals and outcomes aligned with physician and staff performance goals measured through the department, physician and organizational scorecards for the highest level of team performance and engagement to drive and sustain the change process.
  • Plans, directs, coordinates and evaluates daily operations, overall clinical practice and administrative activities, including operational and capital budget management, service line processes, human resource policies and procedures and IT systems for all areas of responsibility.
  • Plans, directs, coordinates and evaluates daily operations of office practice including: nursing clinical practice, APP utilization, fiscal management (FTE's, operating/capital budget, productivity measures), development of population health program and clinic development/enhancement (heart failure and device)
  • Financially accountable for all aspects of the business, utilizing available financial systems, reports and understanding the expense and revenue aspects of the business.
  • Identifies internal and external strategies to leverage core business strengths while frequently evaluating healthcare trends and opportunities for alignment of services. Partners with Marketing to design and develop service line advertising, literature and community events that are aligned with the overall Genesis marketing strategy.
  • In partnership with physicians. identifies and implements evidence based practice for care management across the continuum of services, Works with physicians and staff to ensure patient care is delivered in an efficient and effective manner. Helps identify opportunities for improving patient outcomes and is responsible for oversight of patient navigation throughout the system in a timely and coordinated manner.
  • In collaboration with physician service line leadership, responsible for development of evidence based practices for the management of specific disease processes across a defined population including: risk assessment, surveillance, prevention, wellness and education programming, acute episode management, chronic disease management, palliation and end of life management
  • Engages Genesis Medical Group partners, Practice Administrators and Medical Directors in business planning, development, recruiting and marketing for the program, including integration and optimization of patient care within and beyond the service line.
  • Collaborates with community resources for coordinated patient care. Explores alternative care settings or models to achieve highest possible quality with lowest cost with appropriate utilization, case management and emphasis on prevention or wellness.
  • Develops and implements a plan for effective access, delivery and utilization of service line services in the Primary and Secondary (regional) service areas.
  • Responsible for outreach program development, establishment of quality measures and collaboration with administrators and physicians from outreach sites on an as needed basis
  • Identifies data needed to adequately assess clinical outcomes longitudinally and to affect improvements in the health status and longitudinal cost of care for a defined population.
  • Responsible for agenda creation and leadership of service line related meetings. Participates in Service Line and POC meetings as business expert, serves on hospital committees and is involved in development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Creates a service culture among employed specialists resulting in high referral physician loyalty and engagement. Manages physician engagement and promotes an environment of good citizenship among the physicians, GMG and the Health System

Required Qualifications

  • Current Ohio RN licensure or relevant clinical field
  • Master's degree in business, nursing, management or healthcare related field.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years progressively more responsible related work experience; leadership experience in a large clinical environment, driving change management.
  • A minimum of three (3) years hospital-based clinical operations management experience; fulfills position regulatory requirements when applicable.
  • Experience with health care management of service line related disease.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to direct multiple departments, develop business plans and meet established goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal, decision-making, facilitation, conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills and knowledge of computer software related to clinical information management.

Salary $107,000.00 to $141,000.00 depending on experience.
