This is an 80 bed hospital located near Blackwell, Oklahoma searching for a MT/MLT to work in the Lab.  

MT/MLT - Full Time - Evening Shift

 

Description
 

The Medical Technologist/ Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for overall daily operations and testing in the laboratory, reviews and maintains quality control and preventative maintenance records, reviews and updates procedure manuals, inventories laboratory supplies, and evaluates new tests and procedures. According to CLIA regulations, may service as a Technical Consultant in any area of expertise, except Blood Bank.

 

Receives referred specimens or specimens directly from patients and performs complex qualitative and quantitative analysis.  Performs required tests according to established procedures and methodologies.    Completes reports for test performed and ensures quality control criteria are met.  Documents all quality control and maintains required records to obtain quality testing results.  Assists in the evaluation of new or modified techniques when required.  Advises and assists in the orientation and training of other personnel on equipment and software as necessary.

 

Must observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired regarding personal, financial, medical or employment of patients, families, and employees of AHPC.  Must follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients and AHPC.  Must report hazards and initiate appropriate action.  Must participate in safety instructional programs.

Qualifications
 

Education: Must possess a Bachelors or Associates degree from an accredited college or university in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology program and eligible for ASCP or equivalent registry.

Experience: Desirable characteristics include at least two years experience as a Medical Technologist. Must be able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards when no directions are given. Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress.

Skills: PC skills or applicable computer experience.

Licenses/Certifications: As stated under Education.
