400 plus bed hospital searching for a dynamic Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to work in a 25 bed NICU in northeast Ohio.  Prefer someone with at least 2 years experience working as a Practitioner, will consider new grads with a desire to work in neonatal.  

Full Time, Varied Shifts,72 hours per pay; 12 hour shifts

Min of master's degree in nursing with expertise in content
APN License Required
Certification as required by job description
Ability to anticipate problems and problem solve
Ability to establish and assess outcomes for advising servic
Demonstrated integrity and strong work ethic
Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills

The neonatal nurse practitioner (NNP) works in collaboration with the physician(s) to assess the physical needs of newborn and pre-term newborn infants. The NNP provides care for these infants in the neonatal intensive care unit.
  • Performs initial and ongoing assessment of patient's medical, physical, and psychosocial status, including: conducts complete history and physical assessments, then develops and implements treatment plans.
  • Performs rounds, records progress notes, orders tests, examinations, medications and therapies, provides consultations, and writes discharge summaries, based on interpretation of data.
  • Provides medical direction to clinical staff.
  • Performs specialized neonatal procedures as trained.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Job Requirements

  • Requires a master's degree and/or certification as a Certified Neonatal Nurse  Practitioner.
  • Certificate to prescribe or meet qualifications to obtain certificate to prescribe is required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years as an NNP is preferred.
  • All privileges are conducted in accordance with the established Standard Care Arrangement (SCA), within the scope of practice for the NNP, and in collaboration with the physician(s) identified by the SCA.

·         Cover 12 hour shifts with holiday, weekend and off shift rotation.
·         Works collaboratively with neonatologists and other specialists
·         Subject to frequent interruptions and changes in priority of duties throughout the day.
