TITLE: Senior Biomedical Equipment Tech

LOCATION: near Cambridge, Ohio

Looking for a smaller community(25K population), that offers a low cost of living(18% lower than US average) and plenty of activities in the area but is within an hour of a large city.If so, an opportunity to work with an integrated health care system based in east central Ohio is looking for someone to join their team.The system is a not-for-profit and has over 300 physicians and multiple outpatient care centers throughout the area. The system is the largest provider in a six county region and a primary referral center.It offers a higher level of service than what is typically found in a community of its size including open-heart surgery, trauma care, a Level II neonatal intermediate care unit, neurosurgery and comprehensive cancer services. They are proud of their rich history of serving the community and vow to continue the tradition of healing and caring with compassion, trust, innovation and excellence.Summary:Under minimal supervision, performs repairs, inspections and maintenance to a wide variety of mainly medium and high risk medical equipment, instrumentation, and systems.

Responsible for: various functions within the Biomedical Engineering department that may include, but are not limited to the evaluation, installation and acceptance testing of new equipment, performance testing, preventive maintenance and repairs of existing equipment and training equipment users on equipment operations, capabilities and safety.Responsibilities:Maintains in-depth knowledge (technical and clinical application) of equipment they are responsible for servicing.Performs acceptance testing on new equipment and systems, developing PM procedures on new models. Perform preventive maintenance, electrical safety testing and calibrations on medical equipment using proper PM procedures and protocols. Evaluates PM procedures on an on-going basis, modifying as necessary when PM requirements change.Performs troubleshooting, testing and repairs of medical equipment using proper troubleshooting techniques and problem solving skills. Documents in a timely, detailed and accurate manner all equipment related service time and activity of in-house staff or outside vendors.Provide technical and instructional assistance on equipment operation and maintenance to equipment users.Monitors “Corrective” and “Scheduled” Open Work Order reports regularly to ensure timely completion and accuracy of work requests.Orders parts or vendor services necessary to maintain equipment within manufacturer's specifications.May function as team leader or member on new equipment evaluation or installation projects, and be required to research and provide findings related to the capabilities, installation requirements and costs, and maintenance needs of the equipment or systems being evaluated.

Qualifications: Associate's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or equivalent military training in biomed/electrical equipment 3 years experience in Biomedical Equipment field.Considerable knowledge of electronic, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic principles.Ability to comprehend and apply technical and safety documentation, including schematics, technical specifications and regulatory codes and standards.

Additional Info: M-F day shift with call rotation (every 5th week)4 other techs (none a senior tech, so this is a lead position) and 1 manager in the department
